Bissau, 13 September (UNIOGBIS/PIU) - The President of the UN Security Council has made a statement over the situation in Guinea-Bissau “calling on the Guinea-Bissau leadership to implement the Conakry Agreement of 14 October 2016, including by appointing a consensus Prime Minister as required by the said Agreement.

Bissau, 7 September (UNIOGBIS/PIU) - The Guinean government, in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP) and the European Union (EU) launched today a study to obtain data on the impact of malnutrition in the country.

Most Bissau-Guineans outside the capital maintain that UNIOGBIS has played its part, but the context is increasingly changing. Therefore, they believe that the Office should have a new mandate and a more interventive attitude and “not stay in the shadow”.
