The 25th November marks the beginning of 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence, under the theme: "From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Making Safe Education for All". In Guinea-Bissau the campaign was organized jointly by the Government and UN Women.
The Third Meeting of the High Policy Committee (POLCOM) of the West African Coast Initiative (WACI) was held today in Bissau (Guinea Bissau), chaired by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa, Mohamed Ibn Chambas.
4 November 2015 - The Institute of Women and Children (IMC, Portuguese acronym) wants more female representation in decision-making spheres, not only at the political level but also in Defense and Security Forces and their integration in peace-building missions across the world. A stand largely shared among the people who think women can tremendously contribute to security and conflict resolution as they are more inclined to peaceful resolution of conflict than men.
