05 August 2014 - The representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for West and Central Africa is on a four days working visit to the country, to meet with the new Bissau-Guinean authorities, as well as DSRSG, CoS and chief ROLSI at UNIOGBIS HQ.

At the end of an audience with the Secretary of State for police of Public Order, the chief of the mission, Pierre Lapaque, said the visit aims at strengthening the contacts with the Government of Guinea-Bissau and discuss issues related to organized crime, drug trafficking and corruption.

Questioned about the support that UNODC can give the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Lapaque replied: "We are now identifying the needs, and then we'll see how we can work".
