UNICEF has New Representative in Guinea-Bissau

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has a new Representative in Guinea-Bissau.

She is called Nadine Perrault and is a native of Haiti.

Before being appointed UNICEF Representative for Guinea-Bissau, Dr. Nadine served as the Representative of the UNICEF Office in El Salvador, Central America. Prior to this position, she served in the UNICEF Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean in Panama.

Dr. Nadine has a background in the field of Law, with a specialization in the field of Child Protection. He replaces the French Christine Jaulmes, assigned to the same duties at the UNICEF Office in Kyrgyzstan.

"I am very happy to be here. It is my first experience in the African region, but I am very excited to know more about the country and to continue the work of UNICEF here in Guinea Bissau. I really counted on being on the ground talking to the children, and listening to their opinions as well as continuing to promote children's participation at all levels, "she said.
