Closure of UNIOGBIS

The United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea‑Bissau (UNIOGBIS) was established on 26 June 2009. Its mandate ended on 31 December 2020, subsumed to the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).

UNIOGBIS organizes a training seminar on drugs for Law Enforcement and National Guard officers

The United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS), through its Combatting Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime component (CDTOC), organized a two-day training for 20 investigators in Buba.

According to Muammar Baldé, a UN official, the seminar aimed at training border patrols in criminal investigation techniques, cross-border and transactional crimes, and other drug-related offenses.

The seminar included 10 officers from the Buba criminal investigation squadron and 10 members of the National Guard operating in ​​Contabane and Quebo, in the Tombali region at the border between Guinea-Bissau and Conakry.
