14 September 2010 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Joseph Mutaboba, on Monday resumed a 10 day trip to four European countries focused on the situation in Guinea-Bissau.
Mutaboba is travelling to Paris, Lisbon, London and Brussels to hold consultations with the European officials, in particular on the need to support Guinea-Bissau reforms and efforts for stability.
On Monday, the SRSG had talks with the French Presidency and Foreign Affairs Ministry officials as well as a Francophonie representative. Today's agenda encompasses a meeting with Foreign Affairs Ministry officials.
On Wednesday, Mutaboba will be in Lisbon for meetings with Portuguese Minister for Foreign Affair, Luís Amado, as well as CPLP Executive Secretary Domingos Simões Pereira and the organization state-members representatives.
Mutaboba travels to London on 16-17 September and will be received by the UK Minister for Africa, Henry Bellingham. His agenda also includes meetings with British Foreign Affairs Ministry and Commonwealth officials.
Finally, he'll be in Brussels on 20-22 September for talks with members of the Council Secretariat and European Commission counterparts as well as representatives of Sweden, Spain, Germany and France to the EC.
