Closure of UNIOGBIS

The United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea‑Bissau (UNIOGBIS) was established on 26 June 2009. Its mandate ended on 31 December 2020, subsumed to the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS).

Ministry of Women seeks support from UNIOGBIS

06 August 2014 - The Minister of Women, Family and Social Cohesion, Bilony Nhassé, today hosted a meeting under her request with the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Guinea-Bissau, Marco Carmignani, to whom was requested support to mobilize resources in order to face the institutions present challenges.
The meeting took place at the Ministry and lasted about an hour. It was also attended by the responsibles for regional and international areas, as well as for the Fight Against Poverty, among others.

Bilony Nhassé showed the relevant dossiers of her ministry and at the end of the meeting gave to Mr Marco Carmignani a Project for Institutional Support which shall be followed by the UN Integrated Office for Peacebuilding in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS) Gender Unit of, as well as by United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA).
