Mutaboba in Brasilia and Lisbon to mobilize international community for Guinea-Bissau

1 April 2011 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Guinea-Bissau, Joseph Mutaboba, this week travelled to Brasilia and Lisbon as part of the organization efforts to mobilize international community for Guinea-Bissau.

 

In Brasilia, Joseph Mutaboba held a meeting with the Brazilian External Relations minister Foreign aimed at discussing ways to reinforce relations namely in the SSR area, reinforcement of RoL and combat against drug trafficking.

In Lisbon, SRSG will meet this Friday with CPLP executive secretary Domingos Simoes Pereira at the community HQ.
Mutaboba's mission to Brasilia and Lisbon is in line with UNIOGBIS mandate which requests the mission to "enhance cooperation with the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States, the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries, the European Union and other partners in their efforts to contribute to the stabilization of Guinea-Bissau" and "help in the mobilization of international assistance."
