Local group of ICG-GB meets in Bissau

14 August 2009 - The preparation of the upcoming Guinea-Bissau donor's round table was at the center of an informal meeting held this Friday in Bissau by the International Contact Group on Guinea-Bissau (ICG-GB) at his local level.

 

ECOWAS Special Representative as well as the ambassador of Portugal and representative of the Lusophone Community (CPLP), co-chairs of ICG-GB local group, announced that the meeting outputs will be shared with Guinea-Bissau authorities.

The meeting brought together diplomats accredited to Bissau, including the Representative of the Secretary-General, Joseph Mutaboba, host of the event, ECOWAS, UNDP, European Commission, Angola, Brazil, The Gambia, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal and Spain.

The International Contact Group on Guinea-Bissau (ICG-GB) was set up in 2006, following Guinea-Bissau's round table in Geneva with the purpose to help the country secure international assistance needed for its development.
